Mechanical losses as function of the IC engine thermic state
1997
Borak, Dj. (Industrija Motora Rakovica, Beograd (Yugoslavia))
Mechanical losses of the IC engine have complex function depending on the large number of the influential factors predominantly being the thermic state of the parts, fits and even engine as a whole. Besides, other factors also have their impact on the mechanical losses of an engine. These other factors are the characteristics of the materials of which the parts are made, characteristics of the lubricants, production quality, etc. The paper presents the results of the mechanical losses measured on the rapid traverse (high speed) engine. It is shown that the mechanical losses at the oil temperature of 20 deg C are two times greater than for the thermic state measured for the oil temperature of 70 deg C.
