Virulence survey of wheat leaf rust in Hungary: races/pathotypes in 1999
2000
Manninger, K.
In 1999 leaf rust (Puccinia triticina Erickss.) of wheat was strongly widespread and reached epidemic levels in Hungary. Infected leaves had been collected from wheat cultivars in various wheat growing regions of Hungary in May and June. The single pustule isolates from the collected samples were used to determine races of the rust population by standard differential host cultivars. Pathotypes were identified on 15 near isogenic Thatcher backross lines with resistance genes Lr1, Lr2a, Lr2b, Lr2c, Lr3, Lr9, Lr11, Lr15, Lr17, Lr19, Lr21, Lr23, Lr24, Lr26, Lr28, as differentials.
