anglais. Recurrent selection for high rendement of sugarcane clones in 1993 had yielded eight early maturing clones. Evaluation in wet season (1995) showed that the clones harvested at 8 months old gave maturity factor less than 25 percent, sucrose content 9.50 percent-12.90 percent and cane yield 47.80-57.60 ton hectare-1. While during dry season (1996) the clones yielded 36.70-54.50 ton hectare-1 of cane with the sucrose content ranging from 11.25, 12.79 percent. A multilocation trial is needed to further evaluate their yield stability and repeatability

Dengan metode seleksi berulang untuk varietas tebu rendemen tinggi, pada seleksi tahapan populasi hasil persilangan tahun 1993 telah didapatkan delapan klon tebu dengan ciri-ciri sifat genjah. Ciri-ciri sifat tersebut meliputi sifat kemasakan yang pada musim kering telah dapat dicapai pada umur delapan bulan dengan faktor kemasakan (FK) kurang dari 25 persen, memiliki rendemen gula antara 11.25 persen-12.79 persen dan bobot tebu yang dicapai antara 36.7-54.5 ton per hektar, serta dapat menghasilkan gula kristal. Sedang pada musim basah terjadi sedikit penurunan rendemen yang berkisar antara 9.50 persen-12.90 persen dengan bobot tebu antara 47.8-57.6 ton per hektar. Kemantapan sifat-sifat tersebut telah teruji pada musim basah dan musim kering pada tahun 1995 dan tahun 1996. Uji verifikasi multilokasi lebih lanjut masih perlu dilakukan untuk pemantapan potensinya
