A study was undertaken to examine the shift in weed flora in maize (Zea mays L.)-chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) cropping system due to weed control practices. Hand weeding due to effective control of weeds recorded significantly higher yield of maize. The grain yield declined with an increase in atrazine dose and was lowest at 2.0 kg/ha. Fluchloralin application gave better control of weeds and resulted in higher yield of chickpea compared to weedy check. Shift in weed flora was recorded from dicots in the first yrar to monocots in the second year only during rainy season.
