Characteristics of the distribution and the retail price difference of the fruit and vegetables in Australia and Malaysia

In this paper we attempt to make clear two subjects in Australia and Malaysia. One of the subjects is about the character of the marketing and distribution of the fruit and vegetables. The other is about the difference prices within the retail stores or supermarket, and the reason of the price differences. In Malaysia, agricultural products flow from farmers to the wholesale markets and flow to the retail stores or supermarkets. Similarly, the fruit and vegetables are distributed from the farmers to the consumers in Japan, but the transactions in the wholesale market differ. In Japan, the fruit and vegetables are traded base on the auction. In Malaysia, agricultural products are traded base on the old traditional trade by the negossiation instead of the auction. The supermarkets in Australia are organized into several series, that is, coles, woolwarth, franklins, and so on. In the same series of supermarket, the sale system is simular on the store styles, the discount ratio and retail prices. The coca cola prices are at a discount apparently on the bottles and the size, but the fruit and vegetables are not at a discount on the quantity without the quality of the fruit and vegetables. The quality differences are small than the retail prices
