1999
Matsuo, E. (Kyushu Univ., Fukuoka (Japan)) | Yoshida, Y.
This research survey, conducted by questionnaire in 1996, was designed to investigate the horticulture informations conveyed through TV and radio in Japan. One hundred and seventeen of the 127 TV stations and 87 of the 90 radio stations responded to our questionnaire. Regular programs on horticulture (HT) (i. e., gardening) were broadcast by 24 TV stations and 13 radio stations, and the total number of programs per week were 26 on TV and 28 on radio, respectively. From 1982, the number of TV stations which introduced regular HT programs increased into the late 1980's, and radio stations into the early 1990's. The survey showed that most of the TV or radio stations with regular HT programs broadcasted one program of 10-20 min per week. Fifteen min programs were the most popular on TV, and 5 min ones on radio
