We studied the available substrates for antagonistic bacterial strain (AP-1: Pseudomonas putida) to control Fusarium wilt of tomato. 1) Camphor, chitin, methionine, betaine and sodium hippurate increased the population of AP-1 in sterilized soil. At the same time, camphor and methionine decreased the number of Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. radicis-lycopersici. 2) Methionine with AP-1 suppressed fusarium wilt on tomato more than AP-1 alone.
