To establish a control measure for Western Flower Thrips (WFT) in the satsuma mandarin cultured in greenhouse, we investigated the generation rise and fall of WFT and examined methods to control them such as the use of covering materials and the insecticides. A large number of WFT is present from mid June to early July. This has a great impact because adult WFT from the fields invade greenhouse at this time. To present invasion of adult WFT, insect-proof nets or aluminum-deposition-film-mixed nets are put on the opening of greenhouses. In terms of ventilation, the use of aluminum deposition-film-mixed net was better. Also, the invasion of adult WFT was greatly prevented by covering the greenhouses with UV-rays-cutting film. The use of chlorpyrifos, chlorfenapyr, PAP, spinosad, emamectin benzoate, acetamiprid and nitenpyram was more effective in the control of WFT. Hence, efficient control of WFT became possible by spraying insecticides, use of aluminum-deposition-film-mixed net an
