Timing of fungicide application in the field and suitable temperature for ripening to reduce ripe rot of kiwifruit [Actinidia delciosa] caused by Phomopsis sp. and Botryosphaeria sp

Control effect of 4 fungicides, and the timing and intervals of fungicide application in the field were studied so as to reduce the ripe rot of kiwifruit caused by Botryosphaeria sp. and Phomopsis sp, after ripening. The fungicides were sprayed seven times in orchards during the growing season for evaluation of the control effect. Rankings of control effects of 4 fungicides were chlorothalonil captafol thiophanate-methyl vinclozolin. It could be confirmed by three examinations with different spray programs that the timing of fungicide application in the field to reduce ripe rot of kiwifruit after ripening were from the last half of the end of blossoming in late May to the ending of the rainy season during middle to late July. Moreover, it was suggested with lower absolute values both percentage of affected fruit and a number of the lesions on the fruit through examinations during those intervals of fungicide application in the field during this important period for control of
