RAPD analysis of Bangladeshi and Japanese tomatoes [Lycopersicon esculentum]
1998
Matsui, T. (Kagawa Univ., Miki (Japan). Faculty of Agriculture) | Yoshida, Y.
Five tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.) cultivars, including three Bangladesh and two Japanese were analyzed using random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) makers. Of the twelve random dodecamer single-primers, random pairing of 7 primers were screened; five of these produced 26 reproducible amplification fragments that are useful as polymorphic makers. Each of the 5 cultivars can be discriminated with a few primers. The results revealed that Japanese cv. Lady first showed near genetic distance to Bangladesh cv. TM 0126, Manik and Ratan than Japanese "Momotaro" on the basis of the dendrogram
