[The influence of nitrogen fertilizers on the seed yield of white mustard]
1999
Zekaite, V. (Lithuanian Inst. of Agriculture, Perloja (Lithuania). Perloja Research Station)
Experiments were carried out in 1995-1997 at the Perloja Research Station of the Lithuanian Institute of Agriculture on a soddy podzolic sandy loam soil containing 1.7-1.8 of humus, 180-216 mg/kg extractable phosphorus ans 148-230 mg/kg extractable potassium, pH 4.0-5.3. According to the average data the highest seed yield of white mustard- 0.88 t/ha was obtained at a nitrogen fertilisation of N90. Mineral fertilization P60K90N90 120 significantly increased the number of pods and seeds and their weight per plant and the number of plants of white mustard per 1 m2 as well. On a sandy loam soil P60K90N90 fertilization was most effective compared with the treatments without fertilizers: the yield of white mustard seeds increased 2.5 times
