Notes on the bird species diversity of the highlands of Davao Oriental and Davao Province, Mindanao [Philippines]

This survey listed a total of 124 species of birds (120 residents and 4 migrants) within Davao Oriental and Davao Province, Mindanao. Of the residents, 40 are endemic to the Philippines while 16 are restricted only to Mindanao. Twenty-two species currently listed as threatened were also encountered. It is recommended that additional surveys employing a more standardized methodology should be conducted in order to adequately determine bird species diversity, abundance and distribution
