Agriculture - environment nexus: understanding the issues and review of valuation studies

The paper discusses the linkages between agriculture-based economic development and the environment. It presents ways through which the environment can be affected by agricultural activities and how these impacts translate to effects on man. The analytical framework for valuing these effects was then presented. Subsequently, the author presented a summary of the various studies done in the country that estimated the magnitude of the damages brought by some practices in agriculture. Lastly, the policy alternatives for minimizing unwanted impacts of agriculture on the environment were discussed
