Content of mycotoxins in maize-cobs harvested after first frost

The problem is of particular importance in the north-eastern region of Poland, where plants for silage are often harvested after the first frosts, what makes the crops susceptible to mould attack. With these premises the content of mycotoxins in rachises and kernels of maize Ela cv. harvested after first frosts were analysed by HPLC method. It was found that analysed maize corn contained zeralenone, its derivatives and deoxynivalenol + its derivatives. However, no ochratoxin was found in corn. The toxin content in rachis was higher
