The main objectives of this meeting included updating the results of research work and the identification of obstacles which faced implementation of research work plan during the first period. The programme of the meeting included the technical report of the national coordinator of CARDN in Egypt, and the reports of the team leaders on the following topics: Introduction of camels into the new reclaimed lands, biochemical studies on the physiology of digestion in the camel, characterization of imported camels, and further studies on camel diseases in Egypt.
