The breeding of fallow deer in Slovenia has greatly increased in the last ten years. Successful production depends on several factors. One of the main factors being normal reproductive performance. The number of fawns weaned annually depends upon numerous factors associated with reproduction including conception rate, embryonic mortality and perinatal mortality. In this article we present some of the reproductive characteristics of fallow deer.
