Fungi of the genus Nectria as a cause of beech bark necrotic disease

Authors present the results of fungi study from the genus Nectria used in vivo and in vitro methods on 52 localities of Slovakia in the beech stands of different growth stage. We have proved, that the fungi from the genus Nectria cause necrotic disease of the beech bark of the tracheomycose type. Rarely species Nectria coryli and N. punicea were found out. We have detected imperfect stage of perithecium Nectria ditissima and N. ococcinea. We have tested suitable cultivation medium from the aspect of growth rate of the mycelium hyphas on the example of the species Nectria ditissima
