Humus of forest soils in the Hydroengineering Structure Gabcikovo region [Slovak Republic]

First results on the content of humus and quality evaluation in the top layers of fluvisols on 24 monitoring plots in the Hydroengineering Structure Gabcikovo region are presented. According to humus content in the top 0-5 cm layer (3.55-10.84%) the soils are moderately humic to humic, in a layer 10-40 cm they are slightly to moderately humic (with a humus content of 2.10-3.55 %). The content of mobile Cf sub(1a) fraction is relatively low (1.38-3.82%: in a 0-5 cm thick soil layer, 0.97-1.83% in a a 10-40 cm thick soil layer)
