Comparison of weeding efficiency between L-blade type and C-blade type of a wheeless cultivator in sugarcane inter-row cultivating and studying the efficiency of some special designed Attached implements

Experiment of weeding efficiency between L-Blade type and C-Blade type of a wheelless cultivator was carried out in 10 different sugarcane field, 7 fields in Sakaew province, 3 fields at the National Agricultural Machinery Center, Kamphaengsaen. There was almost no different in weeding efficiency between L-Blade type and C-Blade type. In normal soils such as sandy loam, loam, or clay loam soil L-Blade type have a better on soil-throwing action than C-Blade type. In hard soils as heavy clay or dry soil C-Blade has a better effect than L-Blade. However if soil moisture content is higher than 14.14 percent (db), problem about entwining of grass will occur for both L-Blade type and C-Blade type. Further experimentation on a developed diks harrow set was also carried out. Test results showed that 100 percent weeding efficiency was achieved. However field capacity is lower than using rotary cultivator. Studying the efficiency of special designed hoe was conducted in an indoor soil bin. This special hoe called Paralell Linkage type hoe was able to compensate the soil force and resulted in smooth operation of the machine. These studied had 3 types of experiment 1. fix working-depth and soil density with varying soil moisture content, 2. fix working-dept and soil moisture content with varying soil density, 3. fix soil moisture content and soil density with varying working-depth. Experimental result showed that this special hoe was able to compensate the soil force.
