Efficacy of medicine herbs and insecticides against the corn thripsÁ Frankliella williamsi Hood on super-sweet corn, KU 27-127

Super sweet corn, KU 27-127 was sown at Suwan Farm, Nakornrajasima province to determine the effects of medicine herbs and insecticides against the corn thrips, Frankliella williamsi Hood. It was revealed that malathion gave the best result with 7.25 thrips 7.25 thrips per 10 plants followed by carbosulfan, Derris elliptica Benth and Nicotiana tabacum Linn. And differed significantly from Azadirachta indica A. Juss, Alpinia galanga Swartz Cymbopogon nardus Rendle, Alpinia galanga Swartz + Cymbopogon nardus Rendle Tinospora tuberculata Beumee and check respectively at one day after application. For three days after application, malathion gave the best result with only 7.75 thrips per 10 plants followed by carbosulfan, Derris elliptica Benth Nicotiana tabacum Linn., And Azadirachta indica Swartz respectively. There were no significant difference among treatments at seven days after treatment.
