The effect of different organic wastes used in growing bag culture on the growth, development and yield of some vegetable crops grown in unheated glasshouses

In this research, the usibility of some organic wastes namely, tea leaves wastes, hazelnut husk and rice husk, which can be easily found in the Black Sea Region, mixed with some other organic and inorganic matters in growing bag culture was investigated. Cucumber, pepper and aubergine were used in the study as plant materials. The results obtained from the present study showed that there was no clear effect of growing media on the parameters regarding with plant growth and development since the effect of media changed according to different growth and development parameters while there was a significant effect of media named III (a mixture of 1 part decomposed rice husk, 1 part of decomposed hazelnut husk and 1 part of decomposed tea leaves waste), VI (a mixture of 1 part of decomposed farmyard manure, 2 parts of stream sand, 1 part of fresh hazelnut husk, 1 part of decomposed hazelnut husk, 1 part of decomposed rice husk and 1 part of decomposed tea leaves waste) and VII (a mixture of 2 parts of peat, 1 part of decomposed farmyard manure, 2 prats of stream sand, 1 part of fresh hazelnut husk) compared to the other media on the yield of species tried
