Dust separation unit was designed and developed for the dryer which using axial flow fan to counteract the problems inherent in the air pollution caused by grain drying installation. Air is sucked through dryer and blown into a dust separation unit whereas guide vanes are installed to force the air into intense rotation resulting in the dust being separated from the air and discharged by means of a mini cyclone. The test result of 20" and 22" axial flow fan having air flow of 3,000-3,500 cfm was found to have dust spearating efficiency of 70-75 percent for paddy and 90-95 percent of corn.
