Comparative studies on the efficiency of lime from pulp factory and CaCO3 in amelioration of acid sulfate soils were carried out in pot experiments. Rangsit very acid and Ongkarak soils were used in the investigation. Corn was used as indicator crop; it was harvested at tasseling stage. The effectiveness of lime from pulp factory in neutralizing acidity or increasing pH of acid sulfate soil was relatively the same as that of CaCO3. Application of lime from pulp factory in acid sulfate soils significantly increased growth, yield (dry matter), total N, P, K, Ca and Mg uptake of corn grown in the soils. Growth, yield (dry matter), total N, P, K, Ca and Mg uptake of corn grown in acid sulfate amended with lime from pulp factory and CaCO3 were relatively the same.
