Study on budbreak inducing in Asian pear (Pyrus pyrifolia) was conducted at Ang Khang Royal Station in Amphoe Fang, Chiang Mai province. Five cultivars of these Asian pear namely, Pien Pu, Yokoyama wase, Sung Mao, Pathanak and Xiang Sui were Sprayed with 0, 2.5 and 5 percent hydrogen cyanamide on December 9, 1991, January 4, 1992 and January 20, 1992 respectively. Later, effect of hydrogen cyanamide on hastening blooming and fruit qualities were recorded. It was found that hydrogen cyanamide has tened blooming 1-4 weeks prior to the control. However, fruit qualities namely, fruit weight, fruit firmness, total soluble solids and acids were not different in both treated and untreated trees.
