All contemporary cropping practices, among which fertilizing is one of the most important, are applied in order to obtain stable yields in high yielding hybrids. Effects of seed inoculation of the hybrid ZPSC 704, grown under the application of different rates of mineral nitrogen (control - without fertilizer, 80, 120 and 160 kg N/ha), on yield and soil biological activity were evaluated by microbiological parameters in this study. Inoculation by the mixture of diazotrophs was done before planting. Soil biological activity was higher in the inoculated variant showing the decreasing tendency with higher rates of mineral nitrogen. Inoculation lead to higher both, yields and amounts of easy available nitrogen forms.
