Milk performances of 32 Czech Pied cows from embryo transfer (ET cows) were evaluated and compared with the performances of cows issued from artificial insemination (AI cows). The study was conducted from 1988 to 2000. In comparison with AI cows, the milk production of ET cows was superior as follows: + 529 kg of milk, + 22.3 kg of milk fat, + 20 kg of milk proteins (average values from all lactations). The following breeding values of ET cows were calculated: + 44.24 kg of milk, + 3.05 kg of milk fat, + 0.36 kg of milk proteins, - 26.24 days for calving interval. Breeding values of sires and mothers of both groups were also compared. The breeding value of ET cows' mothers was superior to that of AI cows' mothers, while the breeding value of ET cows' sires was inferior to that of AI cows' sires.
