Artifical regeneration of mountain forest with the use of decomposing wood mass

The paper presents an analysis of the successful artificial regeneration of Norway spruce (Picea abies) by plantation or sowing into wood left behind in the stands of mountain forests. Aspects studied are as follows: regeneration into stumps, trunks and disks (logs); regeneration into wood at various stages of decomposition; regeneration below the stand and on the glades. The work brings the description of technological procedures to ensure success of this method of regeneration.
