Importance of Rowan tree as an ameliorative tree species

Rowan tree is considered as a tree species, having very important role in the forest ecosystem restoration in the immission areas. It is one of the most spread preparatory tree species, playing vital role in the assuring of non-productive functions of forest stands in the most polluted and damaged localities. The presented paper documents the effects of the Rowan tree on the humus form status and deals with its soil forming as well as soil protective function. Soil compartment of the Rowan tree stands was evaluated and discussed comparing to the soils in the stands of Norway spruce.
