The carcass value was estimated in two groups of Brown Short-haired male kids slaughtered at the age of 75 (farm Zernov, year 2000) and 76 days (farm Modrice, year 2001), respectively. The differences in their average slaughter weights (18.35 and 14.65 kg, respectively), the proportion of loin (0.76 and 0.91 %, respectively), and the proportion of rack (19.94 and 21.97 %) were statistically significant. The differences found in other variables studied (dressing percentage, proportions of kidney fat, skin and legs) were not significant. Evaluations of the proportion of individual tissues in the left leg showed that the proportion of muscles was relatively high (69.5 and 71.2 %, respectively) and the proportion of fat low (3.48 and 1.75 %, respectively) in both groups. The differences were not significant. The slaughter weight had a positive and statistically significant effect on the weights of carcass, skin, loin, leg and rack.
