Short review on fish chromosomes, the techniques used in fish cytogenetics and their application area

The paper was aimed to give a short summary of present status of fish cytogenetics, based on the reviews available in fish literature, especially to those who are not familiar on this field. After a short introduction about development of fish cytogenetics essential steps of in vitro an in vivo chromosome preparations, microscopic examination of chromosomes and karyotyping are briefly reviewed.
