Toxicity tests with Photobacteria

Photobacteria emit light under congenial conditions. In case of poisoning if their metabolism gets damaged the emission decreases. This is a well measurable phenomenon with adequate apparatus, and it gives you result that will reproduce well within an hour. Among other things we tested this method with bluealgae-toxin. Danube water, extract of engine-oil and various pesticides. We were able to demonstrate measurable toxiciy in all cases. So, this test could be suitable to control the toxicity of the filling water before the lake is poured.
