Lack of spectrum weed control of single herbicide has been a major limiting factor in the weed management practice. Field study was conducted at PTP Nusantara VII Lampung, from February 1998 through June 1998, in order to evaluate the efficacy of imazapyr applied either alone or in combination with glyphosate herbicide and compare with estate practice for weed control in circle of mature oil palm. Weed coverage of the treatments around 92-99 percent (4 Week After Application-4 WAA), 82-93 percent (8 WAA), 60-81 percent (12 WAA), and 42-80 percent (16 WAA). All the treatments are better than estate practice. An applied of combination of 1.25 l ha at the power of -1 formation of imazapyr and 1.125 l ha at the power of -1 formulation of glyphosate resulted in excellent weed control. Dominant weed species on the areal of this research were Piperomia pelucida, Borreria alata, Axonopus compressus, and Otochloa nodosa. The treatments have been observed suppress P. pelucida growth only the first month, B. alata controlled until 12 WAA, and A. compresus until 16 WAA. The effect of this treatments on O. nodosa showed at 16 WAA
