Efficacy of insecticides and botanicals against Myzus nicotianae and safety to its predator was investigated. Based on these studies, IPM trial involving cultural (desuckering), chemical (imidacloprid PHT, acephate and neemrich foliar spray) and biological methods (release of Chrysoperla) was conducted. Comparative analysis of various treatments revealed that desuckering + plant hole treatment with imidacloprid @ 40 g.a.i/ha was the best combination for the effective control of M. nicotianae. higher relization of yield, and production of best quality tobacco. Though the similar treatment with further integration of biocontrol agent proved marginally better in realizing the field, economically it is not fessible owing to high cost and limited availability of Chrysoperla.
