Influence of antigungal tolnaftate on the growth and efficiency of biocontrol agent (Trichoderma sp) and the causal organism of citrus fruit rot (A. niger)
2001
Sarhan, M.M. (Zagazig University Faculty of Science,(Egypt). Botany Dept.).
The effect of tolnaftate on growth, total N, total lipid, chitinase enzyme activity, free acid content, K efflux and viability of germinated spores of citrus fruit rot organizm (A. niger) and biocontrol agent (Trichoderma sp) were investigated. Both low and high concentrations of tolnaftate induced maximum inhibition of growth of A. niger and low concentration increased total nigrogen content as well, which were highly pronounced in Trichoderma sp than A. niger. Total lipids were found decrerased in trerated A. niger and Trichoderma sp. The free fatty acids - tridecanoic, myristic and palmitic increased, while pentadecanoic, heptadeconoic, stearic and lauric decreased in trated A. niger.
