To find out the effect of temperature on rice heading, 16 Korean rice varieties were examined under field and greenhouse conditions in which rice were subjected to different temperature condition. All of the growth periods ranged from 53 to 114 in 4 different temperature condition at greenhouse of phytotron. Meanwhile, that of field condition ranged from 56 to 113 in 4 different planting date. The earlier varieties having short growth periods, showed more variation in heading at greenhouse condition, while that of the late varieties showed more variation in field condition. Tongil type varieties showed more variation in greenhose condition than field condition. There is a positive correlation between heading date and temperature in which high temperature accelerate the heading of rice at both of two experimental condition. There is a positive correlation between greenhouse response and field condition in basic vegetative growth. However, no correlation was observed in thermo sensitive phase between greenhouse and field condition
