The major constraints of sheep production in Oman include wide spread of traditional systems for animal husbandry, care and nutrition, deterioration of range lands, and low rate of grazing capacity in addition to the increase in the prices of animal feeds. The plan of sheep production development comes under the policies and programmes which this paper highlights.
