Effect of hormonal superovulation and synchronisation in gilts on quantity and quality of recovered oocytes

We aimed at determination of optimum dose of hormonal preparations (PMSG, HCG) to synchronize the oestrus and induce the superovulation reaction as well as at determination of the most suitable time interval of recovery of oocytes after HCG administration. The superovulation response, average number of recovered oocytes per donor and success of recovery were the lowest in group I (9.5 +/- 8.63 Cl/donor; 8 +/- 7.60 oocytes/donor; 84.21% success) in which we applied the lowest doses of hormonal preparations (1000 IU PMSG and 500 IU HCG). In group III were applied the highest doses of hormonal preparations (1500 IU PMSG and 1000 IU HCG) and we noticed the highest superovulation response (16.5 +/- 11.43) at average gain 13.08 -/+ 8.32 oocytes per donor, however, the success of recovery was the lowest in this group (79.29%). In group II we applied 1250 IU PMSG and 1000 IU HCG and noticed lower superovulation response (14.00_7.36), however, the number of recovered oocytes per donor was the highest (13.42 +/- 9.61) and the success of recovery was also the highest 90.61%. The number of suitable oocytes in group I was 40 (41.66%), in group II 69 (42.85%) and in group III 68 (43.31%), i.e. the number of recovered oocytes decreased gradually with prolongation of time interval after HCG administration. The optimum time interval was 40-43 hours after HCG administration, we recovered the highest number of oocytes at the stage metaphase II which were suitable for subsequent microinjection of sperms. The number of suitable oocytes decreased with further prolongation of the time interval
