[Mixed beech/fir stand in the Krstiny Training Forest Eneterprise - its development and production in 1960-1995]

The paper evaluates the growth and development of part of the mixed 123C7 beech/fir stand in the Olomoucany Forest District, Menedel University of Agriculture and Forestry which was left to its natural development without any intentional felling measures in the last 35 years. The competition relations between the particular trees are considered in the paper using so called competition numbers. Primarily, extraordinarily high vitality of beech has been proved. The originally admixed species (8%) increased its proportion 5x, i.e. to 38% in the course of 35 years. On the other hand, the proportion of the originally quite dominant fir (78%) decreased to 38% within the same period
