The influence of a single whole-body gamma irradiation on some metabolic parameters in poultry

The effect of a single whole-body gamma-irradiation of broiler chickens with a dose of 2.0 Gy on the concentrations of glucose, cholesterol, triacylglycerols and ALT and AST activities in the serum was investigated 6, 24 and 48 hours post irradiation. The concentration of glucose and cholesterol was increased and that of triacylglycerols was decreased in comparison with the control group. The activity of ALT was decreased and that of AST was increased in comparison with the control group
