Field trial of the doubled haploid lines derived from another culture of two -line rice hybrid

The study indicated that dihaploid lines N36 and N40 selected from 78 different fertile double haploid lines derived from anther culture of heterotic two - line hybrids, showing various valuable characters: short growth duration, semi-dwarf plant type (90cm), high number of spikelets per panicle (216-232), high yield (5.44-5.77) tons/ha) and low disease susceptibility. Among 63 sterile lines derived from anther culture number of lines have characters favourable for the hybrid seed production as stable sterility, shorter nag leaf, higher number spikelets per panicle, longer grain (0.75 - 0.80 cm) as compared to the control.
