thaï. In the present investigation the effects of different prepartal body condition, as well as the influence of conditions possibly leading to ketosis, on peripheral insulin-like growth factors (IGF) and thyroid hormones (T3 and T4) concentrations were examined in multiparous dairy cows kept under the usual farm conditions. Peripheral serum concentrations reflect the balance between synthesis and degradation which are affected by multiple factors. The data obtained were analysed statistically in order to detect possible interrelationships in the metabolic control of the levels of these four hormones and any changes associated with excessive fatness prepartum or spontaneous ketosis postpartum.
