Harvesting system in wheat, maize is composed of three subsystems, three connectives in a chain: combines, means of transportation and drying plant-silo. The capacity and mass efficiency, respectively of that system depends of mutual accordance of the subsystem capacities. In this paper the mass of the first subsystem combine harvesters and group of them, respectively, is defined and analysed. On the basis of analysis of the effect of basic parameters on the mass efficiency, the result was as follows: increase of the efficiency will raise further by increasing of efficiency power of the engine (even over 350 kW); by increasing of working width of header (over 9 m) and working speed of movement (over 8 m/h), by increase of average yield of wheat (in Yugoslavia to 6 t/ha) and of maize (at 11 t/ha of dry gain).
