Tritium (3H) as an indicator of the connection between river and ground waters
2000
Stojadinovic, D. | Isakovic, D. (Institute for Development of Water Resources "Jaroslav Cerni", Belgrade (Yugoslavia))
The paper presents results of analyses of 3H content in the ground and river waters, as the indicator of possible connection between ground and surface flows. The ascertainment of this connection is of great significance due to the fact that every long-lasting aero pollution might, through the rainfalls, percolate surface water-bearing formation thus reaching the ground waters and humans. In that sense, the most endangered are alluvial aquifers since they are mostly used for water supply. The analysis of these relations has been carried out on Ljubicevo profile (Serbia, Yugoslavia), which belongs to the developed valley of the Great Morava river(Serbia, Yugoslavia). There are significant sources of ground water used for municipal water supply of the town Pozarevac (Serbia, Yugoslavia).
