Efficiency of mechanized harvest and drying of tobacco

This research included manual and mechanized harvest with combine "De Cloet" (working capacity 0.5-1.5 ha/hour) and two types of tobacco dryers. The first one "Universal SDM - 42 P" has capacity of 3,000 kg of green tobacco and the other one "Panaflex PS - 42 P" has the same capacity using two fuels: butan gas and diesel. To rationalize energy necessary for drying, the abalysis of solar collector apply was conducted. Besides saving of energy this analysis points on the aspect of investments too. Introduction of combine for harvesting of tobacco resulted with reducing manual labour from 50 hours to one hour per ha as well as more quality prepared tobacco for filling dryer up.
