Biology and influence of environmental conditions on development of grape berry moth (Polychrosis (Lobesia) botrana Schiff. (Lepidoptera, Tortricidae)

The basic bioecological characteristics of Polychrosis (Lobesia) botrana Den. et Schiff., in natural and controlled conditions were studied. The emergence and adult flight during the vegetation in isolators and by pheromone traps were monitored; average length of adult life was established; sexual index, fecundity and fertility were determined. Duration of embrional and larval development so the lasting of pupa stage were also established. Dissection of mail and female reproductive systems is done. Number of generations in conditions of Podgorica vine-growing area, Montenegro (Yugoslavia), as well as susceptibility of some autochthonous grapevine cultivars was established. Sum of effective temperatures needed for development of each particular generation was calculated.
