Yield of arctic bramble cultivated in Estonia is greatly affected by spring night frosts that mat damage young aerial shoots and flower buds. The plants that start growing later can escape the frost damage. The straw cover laid on the usual plastic cover turned out to be effective in delaying the beginning of the growth of aerial shoots and thus increasing the yield. The influence of foliar fertilizers on the plants was studied by measuring the chlorophyll content as well as the content of macronutrients in the leaves. In our preliminary tests neither the chlorophyll content nor the content of macronutrients was significantly affected by the application of foliar fertilizer. No clear increase in the calcium content of the berries was gained either. The berry productions is significantly affected by the combination of cultivars used in the experiments
