Fish transfer and measures during an occurrence of dangerous fish infections according to a new veterinary act
2001
Zajicek, J. (Statni Veterinarni Sprava, Prague (Czech Republic))
According to a new Czech veterinary act No. 166/1999 a veterinary certificate is necessary when transporting breeding animals, including fish caught in the nature, from one district to another. Breeding fish transferred to another fish culturist within the same district must be accompanied by a certificate issued by a private veterinarian. A health certificate is also necessary for fish transfer to a processing plant. In the case of fish sold alive a certificate must clarify where the fish were stored for the last time. When dangerous fish infections (IPN, VHS, IHN) are diagnosed, only fish sold to processing plants or fish sold killed and gutted may be transported out of the fish culture.
