Method of calculation and heat exchange in air heliocollectors

Solar collectors made from two strips of polymeric foil (translucent and black) welded together on the sides and producing long cylindrical channel were used in this study. The different parameters were determined as follows: 1) optical characteristics (coefficients of absorption and reflection) of translucent channel part considering multiple reflection of solar radiation in the foil; 2) temperature fields in channel cross section; 3) change of air heating mean temperature along the channel. Special equations were used to determine the optimal form of the channel cross section with minimal energy loss. Differential equations were used to express the air heating in the channel and to approach channels of different length.
