The aim of this work was to examine both the spectrum and the prevalence of parasites in 31 grazed calves and cows three years after the last helminth control. The samples were taken monthly during the whole year from October 2000 to September 2001. The results were expressed as polynomials of third degree. The prevalence of parasites varied from 0 % in January to 35 % in September. Only the eggs of gastrointestinal nematodes (genera Ostertagia, Cooperia, Oesophagostomum, Bunostomum) were detected. No negative influence on the health status of the grazed cattle was observed. The systematic helminth control thus improves the health condition of cattle and has a long-lasting effect at minimum costs.
