[Current comparison of the amounts of deoxynivalenol and fumonisin in identical maize samples]
2001
Nedelnik, J. (Vyzkumny Ustav Picninarsky, Troubsko (Czech Republic))
In 1998 and 1999 a total of 84 corn samples from Moravia (Czech Republic) were collected and analysed for moulds occurrence. Enzyme immunoassay was used for the determination of mycotoxins concentrations in 42 samples. Seven fungal genera were isolated, the most frequent having been Fusarium (44.8 % of contamination) with Fusarium graminearum and F. culmorum as the most frequent species found, and Stemphylium (29.3 %). Deoxynivalenol was detected in 95.2 % of the samples with concentrations varying from 25 to 285 microg/kg, while fumonisins were present in 83 % of the samples. Their concentrations ranged from 12 to nearly 1,000 microg/kg.
